3rd US5000, longer interconnects

howdy,

I already have 2 US5000 within my Victron system, connected to a 3 phase MultiPlus II system. The whole systems works flawless and above expectations and as such I’m considering a 3rd US 5000, however space in the cabinet is limited so I need to place the 3rd US 5000 approx 50cm next to the 2 others, so using the longer interconnects between the packs.

The question is, is that a problem? I can recall reading in Victron’s Wiring Unlimited that you need to keep the cables to the same length for DC power.

Main thing is to keep the daisychain intact.

Turn everything off…

You should now have plus coming from the first battery, minus from the last.( or the other way around).

So, if you’re putting the new one on as first ( as recommended) you’ll take awy the plus cable from the 1. Connect it to the new one. Go with plus from new to old 1. Go from minus new to old 1.

Rewire the communication from cerbo → 1. now cerbo → new, copy the 1->2 comm wiring for new->1.

Finished…check twice, then turn on again.
