I’m forthcoming to extend my current 2 x US5000 with a 3rd one but I’m a bit short on physical space to just add 3rd one in a regular setup. However, I bumped on this video yesterday and I’m considering the cabling option explained from the later (3+2) explanation, however mine is 2+1.
So, my question.. is this supported? (and yes.. this is Victron community, but Pylontech is widely used, hence this attempt)
(yellow cable is the BMS interconnect to the Cerbo)
Data link will be ok. For the busbar cables you might balance the use of the battery racks by adjusting the wire length.
With other words: The black wire to the single 3rd us5000 rack should have the same length than the sum of the black wire to the double installation plus half of the black connection between the double installation. Same for the red wire size.
If your getting the Lynx power in or distro then just get another extension kit and connect all three in parallel that way you shouldn’t have any issues with balancing meaning the charge amperage can be high mine goes to 135amps between 4 so rounded upto 34amps each when DVCC is on letting the BMS regulate itself.
I would make a set of 3 stacked and all linked together with the small provided cables and then the top (newest) and bottom one also connected to the Lynx.
Ultimately, I will rack them in a full series of 3 sequentially as most of you describe. I will wire the leads to a big busbar with fuses as recommended. btw, I got confirmation from Pylontech that my (temporary) setup is supported.
It’s only due to space limitations that I’m wiring it like this, after summer this year I will completely redo the physical setup in a separate cabinet.
The reason why I have this (temporary) setup is due to fact that I could never image the system to work so well. (thanks to Victron)
