Hi, all,
I have recently had my Vixtron EMS installed. It consists of the following components:
3 x MultiRS Solar 48/6000
Cerbo GX
Gridmeter (VM-3P75CT)
4 x Voltsmile 5,12 kWh batteries
RPC rack with Victron display
(30 Canadian Solar solar panels)
(Alfen Eve Single PRO EV charger)
The 30 solarpanels (8kW peak) were originally connected to a Solaredge SE5K, but since the MultiRS’s have 2 solar panel trackers each, I decided to have the panels directly connected to the MultiRS’s, with the benefit that the power flow from the panels to the batteries stays in DC all the way.
I also have a Alfen Eve Single Pro EV charger, so I installed the Phaeton driver on the Cerbo GX, which seamlessly integrates the Alfen EV Charger into the EMS as if it was a Victron EV charger. Works like a charm and enables to also charge the car with 1 phase, instead of 3, which makes it possible to just load the car from the solar panels en not from the net. Big thank you to Ron Rhernhaus for developing this driver.
I have the system up and running for 2 weeks now and I could not be happier. I have full control of my power production, usage and storage and in the 2 weeks the system is already starting to earn it’s keep
(it is mid summer of course, so I shouldn’t get carried away too much just yet, but it’s a great start).
