I have a motorhome with a LiFePo battery. The BMS in the battery does not prevent charging when below 5 degrees C.
Can I confirm that a Victron 100/20 MPPT will shut down charging at low temperatures if I fit a Victron Smart Battery Sense and connect these two units by Bluetooth?
Wow. That’s sketchy. No low temp disconnect is a big risk.
Yes, you must program the MPPT to stop charging at the temp you want(40 F recommended) and use the SmartBattery Sense installed on the battery for temp data. You will need to create a network in the MPPT and add the SmartBattery sense to the network to share its data. I am assuming you have a SmartSolar not BlueSolar MPPT. A BlueSolar MPPT will also need a VE Direct Dongle.
