I havent been able to figure out how to make my system stop charging the batteries when its too cold for them to be charged. My LiTime 24 volt 200 AH batteries dont have a bms that will keep them from accepting a charge below 32 degrees F so I need to have my Victron system stop charging them when its too cold. The low temperature cutoff in the MPPT’s is set at 41 degrees F. I have the temperature sensor plugged in on my Cerbo and also have a bluetooth dongle plugged in to the Multiplus-2 inverter and its sitting on top of one of my batteries. The temperature sensor on the Cerbo shows up on the touchscreen as well as the VRM portal. I installed the system last spring so this is the first time it has been exposed to sub freezing temps. What am I missing?
On my old system, the two 100/50 MPPT SmartSolar devices used the battery temperature from the BMV-712 to determine if charging could be initiated.
You need to activate DVCC on the Cerbo and especially STS, share temperature sense, the the Cerbo should be able to share the battery temperature with your MPPTs and they should act upon that temperature if you have charging cut off at low temperature enabled.
