Is this normal? Smartsolar100/50

Here is the graph.img-3887.png

I am in the process of setting up the panels. I have 10 100 watt panels 3 series in 5 parallel strings.

It may be too much and I am going to try 3 panels in series in 4 strings.

But this appears to be doing this 4 times per hour. Is it getting to hot? Am I giving too much power? It’s never about 500 watts like this.

New to solar any help appreciated

Hi @timothytrespas,

This is normal.

The spikes you are seeing there are the MPPT doing it's sweep of the voltage range to see if there is a more optimal point (which can occur when there is partial shading etc).

It takes a few seconds every 15 minutes.
