I am a trained engineer. Therefore I first described my setup and my aims (concisely) before asking my question. My ASCII draft was passed to an AI. All it did was add markup for better legibility, slightly clean up my ASCII drawings and change “power supplied by [HA]” to “power specified by [HA]” to shed the ambiguity. All else is mine. That query is sitting in moderatiuon for 23 hours now with “The flag will be reviewed for appropriateness by moderators.” What is going on, please?

It’s an unfortunate thing that we have to be so aggressive with the filters and moderation now, but necessary to prevent the site from being flooded with spam.
Thank you very much. As far as I can tell it was immediately removed again. I agree with some AI filtering and acknowledge the necessity, but some cleanup of drafts is actually helpful.

There are a number of checks. New users have a lower level of trust as that is where the majority of spam originates from. As contributions continue, this level automatically raises.
Discourse is a platform encouraging human-to-human communication and collaboration.
When a new account instantaneously posts a large amount of text, ala cut and paste, it will trigger anti-spam activity immediately as that is a method used by spammers.
Once that is reviewed and released, subsequent checks will parse the post for multiple hallmarks of AI assistance, this also only applies to newer accounts.
The objective is to try honour the spirit of community by encouraging natural styles of communication. Formal, structured content will trip some of the flags automatically and require a review.
No scan is perfect, ours has a very low false positive rate, but it does happen, often when users who don’t have English as a first language tend to parse their thoughts through an AI to get it right, or people with an engineering background who naturally tend to be very structured.
It is an unfortunate reality on forums these days, something that many different forums are trying to deal with. The system is regularly tweaked to be more accurate, but sadly, there is no way to get it 100% right.
