Winter shut down in Eastern Canada

I have an off-grid island cottage where I cannot get to it often during the winter. I have just upgraded my system from a single array with one Outback controller to three arrays with Victron Energy MPPT controllers. In the past winters I have turned off all the loads to the system so that the batteries would charge throughout the year but no draw whatsoever from the batteries other than what the outback requirements. The system functioned very well. I have 8 rolls wet cell batteries (900 amp hrs @24 volts)

I am not familiar with the standby draw of the Victron Energy MPPT controllers. The panel arrays will have some snow cover during the winter season but I think it would be hard to imagine that there would be no energy from the solar panels.

My alternative would be to power off the solar arrays and disconnect the battery bank.

Thoughts??

Go to the Victron MPPT product page (link below), select your model, click on downloads, select datasheets, select the right datasheet to download it and then read off the self-consumption figure.
