I set up a new Android tablet and connected to my Cerbo GX and the setup went smoothly. That said, I was never prompted for the PIN to the Cerbo. Right now, it looks like my setup would accept any new tablet. I was expecting it to prompt for a pin. Now that I have my tablet installed, how can I protect my installation from some rouge person connecting another new tablet to my Cerbo?
You mean you set up the android tablet as wifi display? Via VictronConnect you can view the settings for the access point. Did you use this password to connect to the Cerbo?
Have a read of the security and access section of the cerbo manual.
I have wifi oard my van and set the cerbo to use it. I did use the same wifi for my android tablet. Once a device is on the wifi, there was no additional security for accessing the cerbo.
What is your setting as spoken in 4.4 of the cerbo manual: 4. The User Interface ?

Thank you. That works. It seems to only authenticate when I first connect a device. I was worried I would need to authenticate every time the device started or woke up from sleep.
Feedback for Victron: the set password hides your typing and does not let you inspect it. It does not have a second confirmation page. This leads to problems that lock users out - if they fat finger the password while setting it, they cannot log in. Please add a way to view the password while you are setting it, or ask for confirmation and ensure that the password was entered properly. The only way to fix this is to have a physical Touch 70 device that is hooked directly to the Cerbo and reset the password from there.
