Which MPPT charge controller?

,

Hello, I have a question. Is the MPPT charge controller 100/30 the right choice?

It is for 2 solar modules, connected in series (300W).

Technical data of one of my solar panel:

  • Power Output: 150W Max
  • Cell type: Monocrystalline silicon
  • Power Voltage:19.38V
  • Power Current:7.7A
  • Open Circuit Voltage:22.78V
  • Short Circuit Current: 8.13A
  • Operating Temperature: -20℃ to +60℃
  • Storage Temperature: -20℃ to +60℃

Battery is a lithium battery LiFePo4 with 12v.

I would like to use it in my camper. Thanks for your help.

It looks OK, but check this on the Victron MPPT calculator.

Thanks for your answer. In the calculation it shows me a MPPT charge controller 100/20. I like that it has load outputs. I’ll do the maths again later. On another page I was shown the changer 100/30.
Does anyone know what additional equipment I need for a 100/30 if I want a 12 V plug and LED light?

You have 300W of solar, at float voltage, the 75/20 will pass 270W to the batteries so the device will be 10% over panelled. The calculator allows to 30% over panelling as perfectly normal. You will not get the very peak power, but will over a day average pretty close to the same energy in kWh.

If you have a lithium battery with a proper built in BMS then the BMS will protect the cells from over discharge so you do not need any more kit.

The advantage of the 75/20 with load output is the load outputs can be more than a low voltage shutdown and can have some better control options.

You can get these same load algorithms with the 100/30, but you need a VE.Direct TX digital output cable and a Battery Protect to act as the on.off relay. This is all in the manual Section 5.

Thanks for your help. Your answers have helped me and you made my day.
