My battery and VE smart shunt are located on the tongue of my travel trailer. My VE SmartSolar MPPT Tr VE. Can Solar Charge Controller is in my bedroom closet. I am unable to get the VE.Direct cable from the smart shunt to the solar charge controller (SCC). The SCC manual states that:
VE Smart Networking
The presence of the VE.Smart Networking symbol indicates that the solar charger is configured for VE.Smart Networking and is receiving battery temperature and/or battery voltage data from the VE.Smart Network.
Questions:
If that is true, will the Android tablet as dedicated GX Wi-Fi Display (beta) show my VE SmartShunt with VE Temperature Sensor for BMV-702/712 information (if connected via Bluetooth to the smart solar controller)?
In this scenario (SCC, smart shunt & temp sensor connected via Bluetooth), do I need a VE Cerbo GX MK2 to display the information on a dedicated Android display (no VE touch screen)?
Is the Android tablet as dedicated GX Wi-Fi Display still in Beta?
If not, are there any VE products that will solve my cabling and info display issues? Thank you!
Mathias, Thanks for your response. After reading the product manual links you provided, I am more confused. What does your response below mean?
Also, VE.Smart Networking Product Compatibility section states: GX Devices (Cerbo GX, Venus GX, ColorControl GX) are not supported. Cerbo GX has bluetooth, so may be compatible in the future.
I think what you are telling me is that a dedicated Android device is NOT going to give me the information I need. And, that the only way for me to see all the information provided by the smart solar controller and smart battery shunt is if the shunt is hardwired VE.Direct to the Cerbo GX with a GX touch display. Is that the case? Thanks again.
