I am trying to use wago MID meters to measure usage in a factory, I’m using these as the CT’s can take the 200A 95mm supply cables, unfortunately I currently cannot get them to communicate via rs485. Has anyone got any experience or had any luck with this.
Yeah the mid meter from wago have modbus, I couldn’t get it to work today with rs485 so trying modbus CTP adapter next it should work as a network meter if I can set it up correctly with static up address
Tried the tcp adapter for the meters no luck the victron cerbo can’t see them. I’m hoping I can get this to work or someone can help as this would mean I could expand the versatility of the systems I could install
I’ve tried using the rs485 first but it couldn’t communicate, so I got the wago 879-9000. Hoping that this would just be plug and play. I’m either missing something in the settings or there is something wrong with one of the devices
Ok. First. The Wago meter won’t be plug and play. You need nodeRED (VenusOS Large firmware) and a modbus package to read the data. This would be the first step. The next step would be to convert the data and inject it into a virtual meter device. I have a number of MID certified meters working with modbus over Ethernet. Yes. It is a bit of work, but it can be done!
