Can somebody advise me a MID certified meter for use in combination with the NS EVCS?
Need to be able to read the data with Node Red only ethernet is option.
As far I could find out the Victron meter VM-3p75ct is not MID certified so looking for good alternative.
We’re you able to find an answer on this topic? Does the Victron EV charger has a MID meter?
Carlo gavazzi has MID certified versions of there meters
Thanks @DuivertNL but can you elaborate a bit more on your comment as I do not yet fully understand you yet. Thanks.
Sorry i will explain ![]()
the ev charger is not mid certified ( as far as i know)
but you can measure its energy with an carlo gavazzi em540/et340 or other suppported energy meter frrom carlo gavazzi, but you need the mid certified version of these meters (the make different versions of there meters)
Thats what the TS wanted to know
I am in the same boat, however I am planning to switch my charger.
In the end adding an external MID meter will not allow for RED III (ERE-certificates) to be earned. This would generate around 10 eurocents per kWh.
A different charger would allow for earning this too.
Do read that you only can get the ERE certificates with a mid certified charger.
Would adding a certified meter in series with your charger be the same?
Has anyone info on this topic?
Unfortunately, a charger with a added MID-meter does not count as a MID-certified charger. I got this in a letter from one of the brookers recently:
Onlangs heeft de Nederlandse Emissieautoriteit bepaald dat een externe MID-gecertificeerde meter bij particulieren niet langer in 2026 geaccepteerd wordt om ERE-certificaten te claimen. Als inboekdienstverlener betreuren we deze ontwikkeling ten zeerste.
Think I received the same email.
Asked that party if I would move the mid meter into the charger would be OK, they confirmed if I can proof this per picture towards them, it’s OK.
What mid compatible charger brand and type is compatible with victron/ would direct integrate in the system?
Know you can’t ask this in this forum but is victron planning to integrate a mid certified meter in their chargers?
Is there already more knowledge on the MID meter support for existing Victron EV Chargers (mine is EV Charging Station 32A NS)?
What do you mean?
An add-on (HW or SW) for the existing CS?
I don’t think there is anything like that in development.
If everything went well, the new model will have a build-in MID meter.
Indeed, some kind of add on, or maybe just a simpel SW update, to make the existing model MID compliant/certified. I purchased my EV about 1 year ago for 500 euro, but costly to have it replaced already. I need a lot of charging session, a lot of ERE certificates sold to compensate that investment.
I hope it is a matter of a certification of the existing HW. As the current charger already is measuring the charing sessions, etc. Hence the question.
