We recently completed an install of both Lynx Smart BMS NG 500A and a Lithium NG 25.6V 300AH Battery. When we first turned on the system, we are getting a W-B05 BMS cable fault which I can’t find listed anywhere in the official Victron manuals for either the BMS or the Battery.
We performed the loopback test called out here in the manual to use a BMS extension cable to create a loopback and see if the fault clear, which it did not.
According to the manual this mean “The BMS is faulty”, however I figured reaching out here to see if other encountered this and its a setup issue that I could resolve on my own.
The light on the BMS flashes red 11 times every 4 seconds.
I am not sure why you have this fault. What I can tell you is the loop around check does not work with the NG BMS, even if the NG BMS is OK it will error with the loop around. Victron are aware they need to update the manual. You could therefore have an issue in your battery BTV board or the BTV cables or the BMS. I checked the looparound on my BMS as has one other person.
@pwfarnell I checked the pins and compared them with the BMS extension cables I have - all look the same to me with no obvious bends or breaks. Good to know about the loopback not being a helpful troubleshooting step.
Is there a way to get ahold of victron support directly over than through a warranty request? All first party Victron pages state they’ll route it to the selling dealers (who I have reached out to already for help).
