In vrm the energy usage of the heatpump is showed as heating while the heatpump is actually cooling during the summer.
Imo it would be better to call heatpump heatpump instead of heating.
Does the GX device get any information from the heat pump as to whether it is heating or cooling?
There is no measurement for that in the custom control node.
Agreed. Or even something vaguer like “Climate”. I have a steam humidifier in the winter, and multiple dehumidifiers in the summer, which are included in the “heating” calculation.
Any chance we can use shelly gen 4 plugs and define them as consumption devices for the vrm graphs?
Yes - I have a Gen 4 US plug set as a heat pump.
I tried setting one of my US gen 4s to heat pump role, now I see a heating item in the legend but when I click its not able to be selected.
Prob another punch in the gut/bug that will never be fixed for using a lynx shunt instead of a smartshunt (I don’t have a ve.bus inverter and dc loads dont show up as consumption in VRM with the lynx shunt, unlike exact same setup but using smartshunt instead…
I think you need to click the “consumption” legend item first.
Oh yes weird - I’ve had to force close the VRM app once on my iOS device to resolve that.
I assume you have a ve.bus inverter or smartshunt.
Even my ve.direct 48/1200 will show as inverting in the vrm gui but that never shows up as consumption in the graphs.
There is only basic support for non-vedirect inverters in both the GX and VRM. This is expected.
Features are built around vebus/RS/HS systems.

On my side I implemented my heating meter into to Venus GX by virtual AC load via nodered. Values are transferred to VRM as well.
How do I get it displayed in VRM overview as well?
