Direct DC loads and shunt

Hello,

is it possible to implement the following system ?
I have some 12v devices that I want to connected to the DC bus through a dc-dc converter.
Is it possible to connect a second smart shunt to monitor this load ? such that cerbo knows about this load and considers it to the battery calculations.

Thank you,
George

For everything to be included in the calculation, you must have the load BEFORE the shunt … then you configure the ‘12V load shunt’ as ‘DC load’

The shunt BEFORE the battery is then only the battery measurement / battery monitor.

Hello,

I connected the second smart shunt as recommended in the picture above.

Is there an option to activate such that the DC load consumption is shown in the diagram ?
I activated “Has DC system” but it shows some random values even if currently there is no DC load connected to the second smart shunt.

10.7W and 0.2A , I do not know from where these values come as there is no load.

thank you,
George

Second shunt must be set as “DC load” or “DC system”. I don’t remember exactly. What you’re currently seeing is just a calculated value. And it’s pretty random.

the second shunt is configured as “DC Energy Meter”->“Generic Load” showing correct values, 0W , since nothing is connected to it.

set “DC system”

I did, it shows correct zero values now, but only locally, not in VRM.

Now you have correct settings. In VRM can take some time…

the VRM is seeing the device, but it does not show on the dashboard.

The question is whether it is a BUG. Your system does not have any victron MPPT? Maybe that has an effect on it. I am sure that you have it set up correctly. But why it is not in the VRM, I have no idea.

Maybe someone else will know.

this is true, I do not have any Victron MPPT, I have the MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-48.

The DC system tile should eventually show up in VRM, you have been making several changes so it may be delayed. The only thing that shows or hides it is the “Has DC System” setting on the GX device. You could try logging in and out or clearing browser cache.

cleared cache, restarted computer, problem persists.
DC System available in console but not in VRM even if it shows up in the device list

checked the sw versions and all are up to date.
