VRM showing huge fake EVCS load

Yesterday and today VRM was showing a huge and fake EVCS load while no EV was connected to the EVCS. And by the way +30 kWh of charging energy in 1 hour could be difficult with a 11 kW EVCS.

Such amounts of phantom charging mess my statistics up completely. What’s going on?

Best regards, Jochen

Hi Jochen, saw you remark quickly checked my setup and EVCS. I see no strange spikes here (atm). So it’s probably not a ‘general problem’.

Have you noticed any other ‘out of ordinary’ events, power cut or brown out, or were changes made to the system or firmware? (FW versions and devices?)

I am not in a position to solve or help as an expert but maybe other might recognise things based on the extra context.

Regards

How exactly is your setup? Victron EVCS or external one and a evcharger meter?
Some third-party-script there? and which venus version are you using?

What happens here is that the forever incremental-counter of the evcharger apparently resets to 0 for a split second. So, 31,51 → 0 → 31.51.

When the 0 is coming in, the system assumes a counter reset and starts over. When the 31.5 Counter is restored, it immediately concludes 31.51 kWh charged.

@dognose The setup is 2x3 MPII 3k in parallel, Cerbo running Venus OS large 3.65 and Victron EVCS FW 2.05. No 3rd party skripts, just a good bit of node red flows. Portal ID #395035. In addition the EVCS changes it’s position from AC IN to AC out regularly. Location has been up and running for +2 years.

This is my son’s installation, I have a pretty similar one with identical FW and without any of the a.m. issues. Both run simple ESS and no D-ESS.

What I have been seeing on both since a couple of days are strange consumption and production forecast for day 0 and day 1, maybe linked to the split-up of EVCS consumption forecast. No idea if there is any corellation. At least the ‘fake EVCS consumption’ of today is still shown in today’s System Overview as prognosed EVCS charging.

If you need more info let me know.
