VRM release notes 10-04-2025

Happy to announce another release to stable VRM.

Here’s what’s new in this release:

Device List: You can now open devices directly in VictronConnect with new shortcut buttons next to the device.

Fleet Monitor: We’ve removed the “Today’s Alarms” card to reduce confusion with the “Last 24 hours alarms” and keep the view cleaner.

Dashboard: MPP trackers that are marked as not available will now be hidden automatically. If no trackers are available at all, the entire card will be hidden — keeping your dashboard relevant.

User Avatars: Admins and technicians now have role-specific icons next to their avatars, making it easier to see who’s who.

As always, these changes are available to you next time you open VRM!

Thanks a lot. The new GUI is Great.
I played around with VConnect and VRM and at some Stage the Remote Console wouldn‘t be Shows einher in Bluetooth direkt Access nor in VRM.
Today Morning a IOS Update of the Connect App cured that Problem!

Hi @Barbara

Is this normal?

Nevermind, realized why the situation happened.
Sorry.

Uhm and where do I set such avatars?

Note that on iPad/iPadOS there is no VRM site avatar displayed. Apparently only visible on Windows.

@ChiefSolar

I am not an apple user - the avatars are visible to me in settings - users whether using the browser or the app on android or windows.

Thanks. Yeah I know where to find them. Just not how to select one.

Also. I edited my reply since I meant VRM site avatar (visible in dashboard). Two different beasts.

Ah right. So that is Settings - General
Little bit down the page after inverter controls - Installation avatar. Is the option not there?

Hey!

You can for now only change / upload an avatar picture using Gravatar (it’s for free):

Oh sure. The feature is there. Set one of course. The problem is that the site avatar, above the VRM dashboard, is only visible on Windows. And most people I know use Apple kit so bummer.

Ok. Will that solve the ‘only displayed on Windows’ problem?

That is interesting. (And how weird of course.)

Hi,

Correct me if I am wrong, but on mac we do show the avatar on bigger screens (Ipad in landscape mode and Macbook). On mobile screen sizes we decided to not show the avatar in favor of showing as much of the data as possible without needing to scroll down.

Hope that helps clarify!

Maybe he wants to say that on the dashboard it shows the choosen avatar, like this:

But on the users page, it shows a generic one, like this:

Could be, but one is the user avatar (set through Gravatar), and the other is the site avatar (set in VRM).

Thanks. Yes indeed. There is no VRM site avatar. Not even in landscape mode. No problem with user avatars.

Yup. I do understand the difference. Fully. Was just a little bit disappointed about the lack of support for the VRM site avatar. So much pixels on iPad and yet. Err.
