VRM portal battery state doesn’t match reality

I have a newly installed smart shunt reporting battery SOC and power flow correctly as far as I can tell. However the VRM portal shows a completely erroneous reading for battery state below the correct readings from the smart shunt:

The smart shunt shows 24A charging current flowing into the battery, which matches the PV output well enough (53V x 24A is close to 1374W) and the inverter load is correct. Why is the portal also showing battery discharging at -1.0A? ALL loads and sources without exception are on the correct side of the smart shunt with only the batteries on the other side …

Did you set the shunt to be the battery monitor on your GX system settings?

Yes, configured as battery monitor.

Have you got a separate battery device on the gx or another monitor?
Those usually appear if you have selected “visible” for a device you don’t want to see here:

Before the shunt was fitted was “Batteries” visible and did it give similar results?

Also system is inverting, how much is being inverted? Is inverter mis-labled as Batteries?

May be an idea to make inverter visible on dashboard, then can see what inverted power is being used.

Aha. I think that’s it. In the settings I had both the smart shunt and the VE.Bus BMS enabled as battery monitors. So the BMS was reporting the DC current draw of the two attached inverters. They idle at about 120W input power for 30W output so 2A is about right. I’ve since disabled it:

Thanks - also a good spot and yes, you’re right, that’s the inverter DC draw being shown.
