My VRM is not showing any installation.
This is both through my web browser on my PC and using the VRM Android app on my phone.
Both worked fine when checked a few days ago.
I’d really like a way to monitor my solar, what can I do?
I have tried to add my installation (though it was there previously) on the “add installation” page of the VRM. I have entered the “VRM Portal ID”, “Installation ID” or “VRM ID” (Why 3 different terms for the same thing?) as found through the “Victron Connect” Android app. When I press the blue “Connect” button nothing appears to happen. There are still no installations showing in the VRM.
Are you using the same email address for VRM as you are for this community site?
I had a look at that, and it all appears to be working perfectly from my end.
The site “Pow Pow” is registered to that email address, and it loads quickly.
To help troubleshoot, can you try with a different internet connection?
I presume your phone and your computer are using the same network, and perhaps something is blocked there?
Phone and computer and Victron Easy Solar II connect to the same old 4g sim card modem they have for some time now.
I don’t have any other internet connection apart from using mobile data, which I’ve just tried without success on my phone via the VRM app.
It has never been an issue before so I don’t know why it would have changed.
Any further trouble shooting steps you can recommend?
Any way to get the VRM style monitoring without the internet connection? I’d prefer to have it offline most of the time but love being able to access it online too.
Thanks for your help.
Edited to add: The VRM site is showing lots of problems for me. I can’t get other things to work on it now. The “ VRM Portal - Victron Energy “ settings page (as linked, forum reformatted the URL to that text) doesn’t load. it wont let me select the “E-mail” text box and the blue button just has the spinning icon non stop.
I have restarted my router and I do not use a VPN or proxy.
No network changes since it last worked.
I will try use a neighbours Starlink internet connection today and see If I can get them to try use their mobile phone (same and only network provider available here). They also have Victron gear and they were able to use their VRM account yesterday. I will report back my findings.
After a suggestion in the other thread I have cleared my PC browser cache. After which the VRM loaded.
Then I checked my android phone’s VRM app and it is now loading too. Any idea what has happened? I can’t really see how clearing the browser cache on my pc would make a difference to the phone app.
Fast forward to the next morning and without making any changes since it was not working and it now works again through both my home internet and mobile data on both my pc and through the Android VRM app.
I really do not believe the problem is on my end. I can’t see any rhyme or reason as to why it works sometimes but not others. I’d love to solve this. The VRM used to be solid before the new update.
update 2
A few hours later and it is not functioning properly via pc browser as it shows in the “All installations” yet it wont load anything when I click on the entry for the only installation I have. It is currently working, showing real time data (after a long delay) through the Android VRM app. This is getting quite frustrating.
update 3
Things have been working pretty normally for the past 2 days. I have made no changes but the VRM is displaying data and finding my installation both through my web browser and the Android VRM app.
I have no clue as to why it stopped functioning nor do I know why it is now. As long as it continues to work I am fine with not knowing.
Something was going on though. Something that never occurred before the VRM update. I’d blame my lack of firmware updating but that doesn’t make sense seeing its now working without updating any firmware.
And not working again on either pc browser using one internet connection or VRM app using mobile data. It has not worked any time I’ve checked in the past 24 hours.
This is very frustrating. I really would like some help if anyone has any ideas. This is all since the new VRM update and no changes have been made on my end.

I really do believe it is a problem on your end, but given you are using different devices, with entirely different internet connections, it’s also hard for me to understand what is going on.
I am not seeing any other similar complaints from anyone else, but I am seeing thousands of users using the site right now in real time.
If there was some problem with Victron’s end there must be another user having the issue as well and reporting it.
Without further details, I don’t know what else can be done.
Can you collect some more specific details about the failure?
Are you familiar with using browser developer tools to inspect page loads and errors?
update After days of it working on neither my phone app or my pc web browser it is again (currently, this is NOT solved) working on both without making any changes on my end. I expect this same problem to reoccur at any random time for any random length of time.

Thanks, I am now also seeing other reports of similar, but intermittent
A little additional info for you. I am currently having the issue again on both devices.
I noticed the VRM app on my phone was not working again. I go to my computer and look at the already open browser tab that has the VRM displayed. The PC browser VRM takes a few seconds to update and display realtime data but is working. I check the phone app again and have nothing displaying so I hit the “home” button then the “installation overview” button and then “all installations” The “all installations” button does nothing and I am stuck on that screen.
I go back to the PC and notice the realtime data is still coming in and matches the info in the remote console so I know it is up to date. I then click the “home” button on the web browser VRM page, then the “installation overview”. Here it appears to hang with “loading…” displayed in the window where I would expect to see my installation. This is where I am currently stuck.
Previously at times it has on the web browser VRM found my installation but then not displayed any data when it is selected.
update it just found the installation on the web browser VRM after a good 10 minutes, I have clicked it but I am now seeing an empty “installation data” page. I will leave this tab open for a bit and see if it comes up. screenshot of this:
update 2 The installation data page updated to where it now shows the name and icon for the installation but no data is displayed. It has been like this for over 10 minutes now. When it displayed the name and icon it also started showing a “last updated” time. It currently shows it was last updated 15 minutes ago but there is still no data displayed. screenshot of this:
update 3
over 30 mins after first noticing this issue and still not working on either PC or phone app VRMs.
I decided to exit the installation data page that still hadn’t shown any data and go back to the “all installations” page. It sat on loading… for a few minutes (about 4 mins) before coming up " All 0 installations shown". screenshot of this:
Connectivity has been problematic for the last couple of weeks on PC and on Mobile. Today, its a complete non event :-/
I did manage to get the PC connected for a short while, but three hours later when I checked, both my installations were not working in real time.
Tried to log in multiple times, but, if the two factor code arrives, it fails at this point. tried again five times a while ago, but just get Unknown error occured.
Tried again multiple times, finally received a sms 2FA after around 20 seconds, input-ed it into the sms field, then waited another 20 seconds……but it failed with error message again.
Looking into the reports we have received from the users reporting on this so far, it appears that all connections are via the Optus network in Australia.
If you are not using the Optus network, and experiencing this issue, please let me know and I will get some more detailed info from you.
If you are using the Optus network, next time the issue occurs, is it possible some how to try to access your VRM account via a different network. I know this is tricky, but would help us to further diagnose the issue.
Hi Guy, I can tell you that Tassie Tiger is on the Optus network, and that there has been no change in his networking setup or internet provider over the period from it working to now not working for him. His mobile device is also on Optus.
He lives a short distance from me and we share a lot of ideas and help each other with our off-grids systems.
I have asked him to come to my place tomorrow with his laptop, and try from my place, where my internet connection is via the Australian NBN system (National Broadband Network) and where I am experiencing no problems at all with my VRM access. Works flawlessly for me.
I will ask him to use his laptop first and then if that fails to log in from my computer. We both use GNU/Linux and mostly use FireFox for access to VRM.
We can also hotspot from a mobile device, again Optus provider.
From here, I can open up browser dev tools and can grab an HAR file if that helps.
(Oddly, I had to re-sign up to the community to post this after not posting for a while, the community system had dropped me as a user).
Good morning Guy, yes as Paul has pointed out, both of my services are with Optus (Moose Mobile and Southern Phone).
This morning everything is working again, but as soon as it fails I shall travel to Paul’s place and hook into his NBN Service to troubleshoot further.
Both my home internet and mobile are using Optus as the network provider.
It’s a decent drive to the neighbours to try their starlink but I will do my best to do that test.
