VRM Portal - Offline

Hey, since yesterday the VRM portal has been offline for me, is anyone else seeing similar issues?

Looks to be resolved. Odd have not changed a thing

I’m experiencing the same problem that was described here. For about 30 minutes now I’ve been receiving constant notifications from the VRM portal.

What’s strange is that the messages are all dated September 19th, even though they are only being delivered to me now. Over time, the notifications are becoming more and more recent, as if the system is slowly “catching up.”

So it looks like the backlog of old VRM events is being pushed through in bulk right now.

Has anyone else seen this behavior or found out what causes it?

Yes, the portal has been regularly dropping out for few weeks now. It’s become very frustrating given it used to be so reliable. They pushed through some kind of update that appears to have broken its reliability.

Thank you for contacting me. I wasn’t expecting it!

Short answer: no.

The issue is intermittent and all my devices (Android phone, Windows laptop, and Samsung tablet) experience it at the same time, so I’m pretty confident the problem isn’t at my end.

On loading the VRM portal page, my installation (Don Road) just doesn’t appear. Sometimes it takes many hours to come up, sometimes less, sometimes even longer; when this all started (several weeks ago) it was out for several days (and I understand from an early response from a Victron support person that database changes had been made that gave rise to it, but the details were thin).

This all started at around the same time the new GUI appeared, so I’m guessing it might be related, but I have no idea.

Thanks again for making I contact. I hope you guys track this gremlin down one way or another.

Posting here but may need to be a different thread.
Since yesterday (1PM PST), my consumption graph is gone.

I say 1PM, because the consumption and solar input are exactly the same then die.
I do not have grid connection, just MPPT, an Multiplus II. and a grid meter for loads on the output.

Under advanced the Inverter and Energy Meter , along with battery all show consumption like normal.
I was on 3.70-44, upgraded to 45… downgraded to 44, back to 45.. No dfference.

it’s happening to me right now.

as with Don2 this has been happening to me for many weeks now - although I feel it started for me a week or two before the UI changes came through. To be clear, I seem to have connection, but no data. Then it comes back at some stage during the day, then goes again.

Can you inspect the page with the developer tools of your browser and see if there are any error messages?

yeah in devtools it shows a lot of errors, but i don’t know what they mean. Want me to send info?

the portal (using Chrome) has currently started working for me again now. It often does this at times during the day, for awhile, and then the data will disappear again at some stage (later this afternoon/evening?).

Okay, so it’s back again but very sluggish between devices (Windows and Samsung tablet). It was also very slow to load on both devices, though the Samsung appears to be a little faster.

I’ll let you know the minute it drops out again.

Okay, no updates on either device right now. (12:37 pm Melbourne, Australia time). Jo installation data recognised at all (blanks everywhere other than the page framework).

Seems a few of us with this or similar VRM issues reside in Australia.
I know it’s not everyone here, my neighbour does not have this issue when I am noticing it.

@guystewart if it helps, my VRM installation worked/displayed data for awhile earlier today but is now not showing any data again now. Chrome dev tools is showing errors again (see attached txt).
