VRM diagrams, "Now" bar not updating

[Please update the tags accordingly, not sure where to place this topic]

I’ve noticed that the “Now” bar in the web version of the VRM is not automatically updated. In the first diagram it is auto updated and is moving along with the time, but the bottom two diagrams not, unfortunately. The workaround is to refresh the screen, not a bog deal, but an auto refresh would be great, nice to have.

Victron: can you check and maybe update in a next release?

Hey,

Hmm i cannot confirm this. What browser are you using?

I have the vrm dashboard open on a wall mounted iPad 24/7, it refreshes each graph nicely, even transists to the next day, etc.

It is not a big deal, just a nice to have if it can be improved.
I’m running on Google Chrome on Mac OS, can test it as well on the Safari browser.
This morning, opening the laptop, the browser pops up and I get the following overview:

The top diagram is automatically updated, the bottom two not.

Again, I’m sharing my findings to make the VRM even a better product

Tested on Safar running on MacOS. When the time jumps form 08:59 to 09:00 the Now bar in the top diagram is moving, in the bottom two diagrams the bar is not moving. Waiting until 09:01 also no move. Refresh the page, the Now bar is updated.

Ah yeah - if you have the laptop shutdown / hibernating or the tab gets send to the background, the browsers will pause java-script execution after some time and therefore block redrawing.

Therefore, you may also notice that the tiny solar / consumption / grid widgets also show a “flat line”, for the time javascript was paused by the browser (until you refresh the view):

Thanks for the feedback @dognose, it situation doesn’t only occur when shutting down the laptop. It also occurs when the web-browser is active on screen. See my Safari test when it was 8:59 changing to 09:00 and 09:01 without the update of the two bottom diagrams.

When opening the laptop this morning, the top diagram perfectly jumps to the correct timeslot and day. The bottom two are stuck to the timeslot/day of yesterday. Again, a refresh of the page solves the problem.

For some reason the update scripting of the two bottom diagrams work differently as in the top diagram.

Extra update, I also notice the same behaviour on the iPhone. App is still running on the background, I open the VRM app again, the top diagram, the “Now” vertical bar is updated but the bottom two diagrams the bar is not updated. Pulling the screen/app down will refresh the app and all “Now” bars are aligned again.
