VRM details unclear what it means

I support friends at their “runing” VictronSystem. I have good PV-knowledge but non with victron. Ic have access to the VRM. Some in Information on the diagramms are not not clear to me. So for the MPP State und VE.Bus.State. I couldn’t find any informarmation about that.

If you read the manuals for the inverter charger and mppt you will see explanations of how they work and the settings. This chart tells you what the item is doing. Most items in the list should be familiar such as bulk, absorption and float. When you have read the manuals come and ask specifically gor the one or two you do not know.

I searched for red the manuals. So for the MPP-State the termes are clear. But I coudn’t find anything about the termes of VE.Bus State. As they define not just the bus state but the whole system it seems to be important to understand them clear.

External control - a lithium BMS or other service is controlling the devices charging voltage and current.
Blocked - the device is connected to one of the programming tools so can not communicate to the GX device.
Test - not 100% sure but may be the self test that occurs on start up. Never seen it.
Battery safe - Battery Safe reduces the charge current when the voltage is approaching the setpoint to enter absorption, so giving a gentler change from bulk to absorption.
Repeat absorption - repeat absorption give the battery an absorption charge if it has been permanently on float for default 7 days.
Sustain - this is the mode when prefer “wind and sun” or " renewable enerhy" is set.
Power supply, not *sure, never seen it.
Power assist - there is ac coming in and the inverter is also operating so the output ac power is higher than incoming.
Inverting - the inverter is inverting from dc to ac, no incoming ac.
Passthrough, ac power is coming in and passing through, no charging or inverting occurring.
Storage is a lower voltage float mode for long term battery storage
AES mode - low power mode where the multiplus only operates sporadically to detect if there is a load, turning on fully if it detects one.

Everything else is related to standard battery charging terms or self evident.

Many thanks. That helped me.

I found another widget with unclear termes. Can you explain me those?

I think it es very special that battery life state is allways on restarting!

I know nothing about ESS, see

Thanks, I’m going to study.
