VRM and critical loads

Hello.

My VRM does not show the critical loads. It is all added together as ac loads.

The remote console shows it right.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Critical loads are only shown if “AC loads” is enabled in ESS, with a suitable grid meter.

You probably using the Inverter-Measuring to measure Grid?
Then, there can only be loads on the ACOUT side, and hence they are just labeled “AC Loads”, with no “AC Loads” beeing shown at the ACIN Side of the Multiplus.

If you set the system to use an external meter, then Loads between the Meter and the Multiplus can be detected.
Thus, another Box “AC Loads” (on ACIN) will appear in VRM, and the “AC Loads” on the ACOUT side will now become “Critical Loads”.

Thanks guys! @nickdb @dognose

I should have written it earlier. Here is the system schematic:

VM-3P75CT ↔ 3 x Multiplus II 48/8000 configured for 3-phase. Critical loads are only connected to first Multiplus on AC OUT 1.

The remote console shows the data as expected: ac loads before multiplus measured by the vm-3p75ct meter and separately critical loads on AC OUT 1.

In VRM the ac loads before and after multiplus are added. Hence the head scratching…

Any ideas?

Yes, you have still set Settings → System Setup → ESS → Grid Metering configured to “Inverter” rather than “External meter” - In that Case VRM will look like you describe, and the system won’t use the Meter-Measurements at all, even if the meter is displayed as device.

This is the only way VRM will omit the ACLoads Box on the AC-IN Side.

If you got that set properly, try toggle it back and forth - eventually some data is not in sync with VRM.

Thanks @dognose

I finally got physical access to the system yesterday. Added the ess assistant and the vrm Is showing the same boxes as the remote console now.

Still can’t comprehend why VRM showed something else than the remote console  One thing I noticed is that when I was connected with the mk3 interface and veconfigure opened the VRM started showing the critical loads box with values but the remote console started showing dashes.

Anyways. It works now…

Thanks again
