VRM Account Password reset

Hi guys,

Don’t believe I have to start a topic about this simple thing, but I can’t seem to be able to reset my VRM account password for some reason.

I requested reset email, which I got, I clicked the link, but in this form, even if my password matches all the criteria, I still get this “Password requirements” message and the reset does not happen. I tried it on Android, Windows (Chrome, Edge), still the same. I tried different actual passwords, still the same.

Disclaimer: what is shown is not and will never be my actual password, I left it visible only so you can see the contents should be valid (I hope). If it went through with this, I would not be making this post.

The account is new (and empty), I created it last November, but actual setup of hardware got delayed because of winter conditions and will only resume next week and I realised I don’t remember the password. I need my account linked to the original email, so that’s why I don’t want to simply abandon it and create a new one.

Any idea what simple thing I’m missing?

It is probably wanting a complex password of minimum length, or you are using special characters that may not be permitted.

Requirements are

1 capital
1 special character
And must not resemble known words.

Hi, it’ll be fixed soon! There’s a nice character escaping issue that we’re fixing; not difficult but requires a bit of thought.

And indeed, the example is missing a special character.

A valid password may also not contain (part) of your name. I.e Huhlak1! would also not be allowed.

With kind regards,

Jarco

Oh, okay. I did try adding special character to the password originally, but the one I tried was a dot, which, as it turns out, is not considered special enough, I guess. Thank you all, issue solved!

It’s properly fixed now, we’ve also added realtime validation so you don’t have to wait until your password is correct or not.

With kind regards,

Jarco
