Victron Multi RS 48/6000 with VictronSuper AGM 230Ah maximum battery charge settings

hi all

we are participating in a tender that wants to string 5x 12V AGM together = 60V (but 70V) when charging. Is it possible to use the Multi RS 48/60000 for this purpose as its max charge voltage is 60V? any advice would be great as they are strict on this configuration which is kinda mad as nothing in the victron range seems to do this?

Thankyou

Leon

If the batteries need a higher charge voltage then no.
They will be undercharged and not last.
Bit if a strange choice 5 in a bank? What would be the reasoning?
70v is 14v per battery? Would that not also be too low? Do you plan to have balancers in the bank?

i honestly have no idea alexandra. the whole tender is a bit silly but it is worth millions and 100 Mutli RS units and 1000 Super AGM cells. they wont flex on the design as we would prefer to use lithium and do all kinds of things differently. i would prefer to do 3x4 rather than 2 x 10 as this keeps it under the 60V limit even at 14v/cell in the super AGMs. my experience is really only in lithium so im happy to take your advice on battery balancers for the AGMS you recommend too. i thought i read somewhere you could increase the charge voltage to 66V on this unit in the settings? but perhaps im wrong about that.

Yeah in the tech specs it says is can have equalisation set to 62v and have a 6% temp compensation. See note 5.

Some tenders are not worth the money. I have dodged many weird spec ones and been thankful when i see the company that did win cry away the profit. And we have won a tender by refusing their spec and sticking to our guns on a more correct spec.

Sometimes a cost benefit thing can help sway it your way.
