Hello community,
a few days ago I ordered a mega fuse (125A / 80V manufacturer Victron Energy):
For me it does not look like an original mega fuse from Victron. What do you think? Is it fake?
Regards
Oliver

Official Victron dealer photo looks similar.
Thanks for the photo. I wondered because of missing any label. Just a simple plastic pouch.
Victron has changed their fuses a while ago and this is from the official site Fuses & fuse holders - Victron Energy
The one is for 80V, not 58V like you probably had previously.
125/58 has a product number CIP137125010 / 125/80 product number is CIP138125020.
125/80 are sold by distributors in 5-pcs packs only, so probably you have got one from the 5-pcs pack.
That’s the correct fuse, OEM is Zeeman (Victron doesn’t manufacture fuses). The move to the 80v range is a good one, I think, I’ve taken these fuses apart and am fully satisfied with their construction.
@arekp Thanks for your detailed explanation. Do you know anything about the price? I paid nearly 30,- € for one fuse. Looks a little bit expensive.
It looks like @ejrossouw wrote, they changed the offer. Currently I don’t see 125/58 in the current pricelist.
@arekp Thank you for the link to the current pricelist. I contacted my distributor and he sent me back some money.
Happy to help
There are also available some cheaper alternatives, e.g., Littlefuse MEGA 70V (SF51).
You can get some from Mouser Electronics eshop (e.g., this 150A variant). The price starts at approx 12 EUR (and goes down to 6 EUR if you buy 250+ of them :-D)
I am using their 150A and 250A variants in my ESS setup, and they works “nominally” (no problem with them after 1 year of service).
