Victron Instructions

My first post!
I’ve been buying Victron components for my sailboat for several years. I have a BMS, a charger, and a DC to DC converter that are all “smart”. About a year ago, I got my first MPPT charger (the Bluesolar mppt 75/15). I didn’t think I needed a smart mppt but this last winter, I changed to Lifepo4 for my house loads. I just ordered a smart controller and will likely get one of the VE direct cables so I can change the old mppt to Lithium. That’s my status.
But this post is about Victron Instructions. The “manual” I got with the Bluesolar is 4 1/2" x 3 1/4". The print is SO small I need to use the magnifier on my phone to read it. I’ve tried finding it online as a pdf and all I seem to be able to come up with is a manual for the smart controller. The manual refers to figures that don’t exist. I’ve spent hours looking at youtube videos trying to figure out what the blinking lights on the controller mean. Please believe me, I really do like Victron - the designs, the hardware, etc.
Can someone on here please tell me how to go about getting specific instructions for the hardware I purchase? I’d like to call Victron but I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to do that and have given up. Should I go through the seller on Amazon??
Thanks much in advance.
Ron

@harbin2

All manuals are online.
Please find the link for blu 75/15

Or as a website if you prefer that

And for the LEDs on MPPT: here You could find the Victron Toolkit, where the meaning of LED signals is nicely explained.
I am using many Victron devices and have never looked in printed material - the ones Victron places online are updated regulary to follow the latest firmware updates. Even better - it could be downloaded to have the at hand when needed.
And there is benefit if You buy from Victron dealers - You pay premium, but have easy reachable people to ask support if needed.

Thanks everyone! I got the new smart controller. It had a very same (1mm high) text. What I like about the manuals that come with the hardware is that it applies to THAT hardware. BTW, I DID locate the figures referenced in the text (it follows the instructions in the 5 other languages). Thanks to all of you, I now also have the English only version in pdf form. These are much easier to read. However, can someone please tell me what the pdf downloads contain that the manuals that come with the hardware don’t? The pdfs are about 65 pages long and the paper versions (English section only) is about 12 pages. The pdfs are also several years newer. Thanks again friends!

Step by step guides.

Some examples of set up.

And a much more in depth description of installation and setttings.

Easier language. And as they are online easier to keep up to date with changes such as if we see a frequently asked question or encountered problem. It is added to the manual.

Thanks LX. Although I’ve been using Victron products for several years (started with the BMV 712 about 5 years ago), I only recently purchased AC, solar, and DC to DC chargers. I’m having trouble understanding the TWO lights on my BlueSolar charger. When I go to the online manual for that charger, it describes THREE lights (which applies to the SmartSolar charger). My concern is that other parts of the manual may not apply to the BlueSolar charger. I downloaded the Victron Toolkit app and, although it has LOTS of info on the lights, I find it somewhat confusing also.

The Toolkit app lets you choose if you have an MPPT with two or three LEDs. If you then tap on the respective blink pattern you get additional info for the function/alarm behind it.

Do you have question about a certain pattern/function/alarm?

You could always post a short video and we can tale a look.

Yes, I do - see below. Thanks so much for your help. I have a BlueSolar MPPT. It is on a boat with a 100W panel. I observed these lights on 8/8/2025 to 8/9/2025.

During the day both green and yellow lights were flashing fast. Per Toolkit, this means battery was in Bulk charge state and load algorithm was set to “BatteryLife”.

At night only the green was flashing fast. Yellow was off. Per Toolkit, this means the battery was not charging and the load algorithm was set to “BatteryLife”.

The next morning, the MPPT charger light was solid green. No yellow. Per Toolkit, this means the battery was not charging and the load algorithm was set to conventional.

Note: I have had the VE.Direct port jumpered for the 11.8v disconnect, 14v reconnect algorithm since the unit was new – have never changed it.

Questions: Why would the load algorithms show the “BatteryLife’ settings in the two first (daytime and nighttime) events? Given that the jumper is set to one of the conventional algorithms, why is the yellow light showing I’m in the BatteryLife algorithm?

I hope this makes some sense. Thanks again!!
