I work for a company that has about 40 Victron installations in the USA and Canada; about half rely on the Victron Gx-LTE modem for communications back to the VRM.
I am having trouble accessing and programming Node Red on the GX-LTE units. Below is what I have tried.
- The system uses a SIM card from Teal.io. The Victron modem recognizes the SIM, shows good service bars, and connects properly to the VRM/Remote Console. However, sometimes the systems go down for a couple of hours before restarting and resuming function. Is there any known compatibility issues with the Victron LTE Modem that would cause it issues on a busy LTE network? (For reference, company uses these SIMs in a networked microcomputer in different products and there are zero issues)
- Is it essential to use a Victron supplied ANT100200100 outdoor antenna with these modems? Any potential problems with using another antenna that is advertised for 4g?
- Am I asking too much of the Gx-LTE modem running Node Red?
Thanks in advance, Glen
