Hi, I’m having trouble with a CCGX and a GSM modem. The original gsm modem failed and couldn’t detect the sim, we ordered a new modem which is a GX LTE 4G-E, this modem now shows up on the CC screen as connected to the internet using a Vodafone sim but when trying to connect to the VRM I get error 154 DNS failure. I’ve removed the sim and checked in a wireless router and it can run data through that although can’t connect to the CC as it’s Wi-Fi only router. I also can’t check for any firmware updates so it seems as though the CC is offline although it claims to have an internet connection. I assume that the LTE 4G-E is just a newer version than the old GSM? Any help greatly appreciated.
If you log onto your modem, you should be able to access the settings for the LAN - make sure that the DNS server ip is configured there, it may also be able to accept an alternative DNS such as 8.8.8.8
also check your CC-GX configuration to see if manually programming the IP for the router, subnet and DNS server can fix the problem.
