Victron Comms battery + Lynx Shunt

I am planning on making some changes to my system. I am going to add/subtract some batteries.
My question is, if I have a lynx shunt and cerbo gx displaying the battery levels, assuming that I have all the settings correct, do I need a battery with Victron comms?
Is this info overkill, nice to have, or if I am upgrading batteries, just buy the ones with latest smart features?

If you are moving to lithium batteries then a BMS is essential. Most BMS systems should be able to communicate with the Venus os, if you get one that can’t you will be missing out on a lot of features and useful information. Victron has a list of supported battery systems, though this may not be all inclusive.
