Can I integrate the Arco Zeus regulator into an existing system with a Victron BMS V2 with Cerbo GX or do I need to change the complete installation with the Lynx components?
You can use it with the VE Bus BMS V2. Like all chargers with that BMS the Zeus will need to be fully set up in standalone mode with correct charging voltages, times and tail currents etc for the Victron batteries, it may have a suitable preset. You MUST connect the ATC terminal on the BMS to one of the feature in wires on the Zeus and make sure that this feature in wire is set to shut down charging. When the system is set up, do a full test by removing the feature in wire from the ATC terminal or telling the BMS to shut down charging to make sure the Zeus does indeed shut down. As the Zeus will not have comms from the BMS, you MUST either connect the Zeus battery shunt signal wires to your BMV shunt or SmartShunt or add a second shunt in series. The BMS will stop charging when too hot or too cold through the ATC contact. However, you should also add a battery temperature sensor to the Zeus to tell the Zeus to go to reduced charging current as temperatures rise or fall for best battery life.
Hi - Do I need to install the LYNX BMS for using DVCC with the Cerbo GX or is this Independent from the BMS type?
The VE Bus BMS V2 only uses DVCC to stop charging, ie to send a CCL (Charge Current Limit) of zero. All other times the chargers act independently. If you want a BMS that control all chargers in a synchronised way you need the Lynx BMS.
A VE Bus BMS V2 does not provide data for the DVCC functions of share voltage, current or temperature sense (SVS, SCS & STS) but if you have a BMV or SmartShunt battery monitor then this can supply those functions. A Lynx BMS provide those functions.
In my system I already have the Victron Smart Shunt, a Cerbo GX, the BMS from Victron including Solar Chargers from Victron with VE.Direct and everything is already connected with my the LiFePo4 Smart Batteries from Victron including the ATC and ATD cabling. So I can simply integrate the ZEUS ARCO in this environment and change the settings of the Zeus to DVCC?
The Cerbo GX will receive all necessary information from the Victron Smart Shunt and send out the commands to the ZEUS by the VE.Can Bus?
I am familiar with the Wakespeed WS500, less so with the Zeues. I have tried to explain what the Victron equipment does, but you need to confirm exactly how the Zeus is then set up, but It will not be under full BMS control by DVCC as the VE Bus BMS V2 does not provide full DVCC control, neither does the SmartShunt. You need to read more about DVCC and perhaps see if their is a Zeus user group.
