Venus OS v3.60 released officially

I second that virtual devices are great. But also that the currently available device types are still quite limited in scope and functionality. I’d much like to see more virtual devices (specifically an AC/DC charger / inverter) or maybe some starter guide / documentation on how to develop these ourself.

Understood - will consider that - thanks!

Hi!
My VRM connection started to drop when I started using the beta version. I’m currently using version 3.60-84
This problem started earlier when I downloaded version 3.60-70
The remote control panel works but the VRM connection doesn’t.

Hey @Tekidan , see Integration of combined heat and power unit - #6 by mpvader.

Thats the best answer at the moment I’m afraid

Hey!

Thanks for the feedback. Making it visible that there are still active, yet acknowledged alarms is on purpose.

Hey @CM9ja , yes. We’ll look into this - thanks.

Quick question: did v3.60~84 get re-released today ?

My GX is running that version but offers to upgrade to the same version anyway.
In the downloads folder the file creation time is also updated to today.

Same here.
@mpvader did you forget to change the version to ~85 or higher?

I was still waiting for the full changelog of v3.60~84

But Matthijs seems to be faster then he knows himself at the moment

Hi all, apologies for the delay. Changelog is complete now with both v3.60~84 and v3.60~85.

All small things.

Currently we no longer have any “blockers” listed for official release: if you do think we missed something that is a reason to hold off on that - then welcome to mention that here!

Correction!

v3.60~85 is indeed not available yet, and instead v3.60~84 was rebuilt, by accident.

Exact same version as before; just a new builddate.

So, v3.60~85 is now coming tomorrow (the build takes several hours).

The checksum is different though

I’ve been busy building a hybrid VRM / Node-RED DESS Trade (no-solar) solution to increase profit from midday low prices. Hopefully (just) in time to request some attention from the devs to have a look at the ‘Scheduled charge levels’ currently not working with VRM DESS before closing the v3.60 beta. Hoi Matthijs,
Not mentioned within the releasenotes or elsewhere in this post: I can gladly confirm that the freeze of the Touch display and the energy meter update via VE.CAN on the Touch display is now solved (in V3.60~85)!
I was testing with 2 Cerbo’s New UI (#1 v3.55 large and #2 v3.55)

  • Touch display → Settings → Device List → VM-3P75CT → nothing happens, or takes 30-40s to respond.
  • Changes in the power consumption takes 30-40s to refresh
  • If you go back one step, it takes about 30-70s until the screens jumps back one menu.
  • The Touch freezes in the ’ Settings → Device List → VM-3P75CT’ view after 2 tot 8 minutes (on Cerbo #2). Only reboot works
  • viewing data via the browser keeps working, also in realtime. So bug is only on the Touch.

In v3.55 Classic UI, everything worked okay.

V3.60~85
Breadcrums are great! But behavior is odd: Overview - tick Grid → ‘Overview > VM-3P75CT #1
This is the same view as ‘Settings > Devices > VM-3P75CT #1’. But overthere, I can click Devices, to switch to e.g. the GPS dongle.
I would expect the same breadcrum from/in the Overview page.

One thing mentioned was jumping speed on the boat page especially when stationary, some damping or a minimum cut off needed. It does seem a bit smoother but I fitted a new GPS receiver as well as ~85. Not a blocker, more something that affects “tidy minds”.
