I currently have a system setup comprising 3 x 10 kVA Victron Quattros (one per phase), connected to 2 x Freedom Won 10/8 batteries. A 25 kVA 3-phase generator is integrated into the system. The municipal supply feeds into the generator, and from there, a cable runs to Input 1 of the Victron system.
I’ve limited the generator output to 33 A and set the maximum draw via the VRM app to 28 A. I’ve also enabled the “Weak AC Input” setting on the Victron units, as the inverters initially refused to sync with the generator.
A Venus GX is installed for communication, but it frequently goes offline and only reconnects after manually cycling its power.
I would appreciate assistance with the following issues:
- Why does the Venus GX not return online immediately when the network cable is reconnected?
- When switching on a 4 kW geyser (on red phase), the inverters disconnect from the generator and fail to resync. However, using two 2 kW kettles simultaneously does not cause disconnection. Could the geyser’s inrush current be too high and causing this instability?
Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
