After attempting all fixes I can find online, checking wiring, power to the shunt and even doing a factory reset the Open state remains. Beginning to suspect the shunt is bad, hoping someone has an idea for fixing the issue.
Welcome aboard!
Can you share a bit more about your system? From your message, we only know you have a shunt of some kind, and something is in open state.

It is a VE Direct Smart 702, and the display open instead of monitoring battery use.
Can you add a picture/screenshot?
The only thing that could be open is the small relay at the back of the monitor.
Here’s a guess:
Maybe the BMV-702 is in Setup mode viewing the relay setting? Perhaps someone went into settings to change the relay state.
Try pushing the Setup button once briefly to exit the settings. You might have to push it a second time to get to the battery % display.
How did you get there? If you pressed Setup for 2 seconds, it will go into settings.
Hi Buzzy;
Have gone in and out of set-up mode several times this morning, no change to the open state message on my phone. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
Please add a screenshot.
As I guessed above, it’s just the relay.
With the help of the group I figured out the relay setting that I had missed, set it to the inverted position and now all seems to be actually functioning as it should. Thanks for the help
So you have something connected to the relay?
Nothing at all. But the device seems to be reading as it should after I set the relay to the “inverted” position. Is there a better way to do this?
If there is nothing connected than it doesn’t matter what the app says about the relay.
Ok, it is showing what appears to be battery use for the first time ever. May be more to do with corrected wiring to the shunt, thanks again for your help
