My system has a Lynx & Cerbo on the VE.can. At one end of the bus is a Wakespeed regulator and the other a SeeLevel NMEA2K, both with crossover cables. Is there a way to connect this ammeter using the CAN network? It uses J1939 CAN network. It would need to go between the Wakespeed and Cerbo. Current network is Terminator-Wakespeed-Crossover-Cerbo-Lynx BMS-Crossover-SeeLevel-Terminator
The gauge works directly off a J1939 CAN network.
Unless the wakespeed outputs J1939 Can current information, then the gauge won’t work on the NMEA2k data used by the Cerbo. Normally these 2 standards are not compatible.
Although, in addition, if you are programming savvy, you can listen in a little script for the amperage info on the NMEA PGN/ID and send it back on the bus on the J1939 specific PGN/ID.
Thanks. I contacted Wakespeed and they said the regulator will likely not output the correct info. I’m installing an ammeter with a shunt.
