VE.Bus Error #15 after MK3-USB Programming Attempt MultiPlus-II - Not Responding Properly

Hello everyone

I’m currently facing an issue and would really appreciate your help.

I was trying to properly configure my MultiPlus (setting it up for a Victron Smart LiFePO4 battery) using my PC and the Victron MK3-USB interface.

Unfortunately, I forgot to completely disconnect the MultiPlus from the Cerbo GX during this process.
Setup was as follows:

  • VE.Bus 1: connected to Cerbo GX
  • VE.Bus 2: connected to PC via MK3-USB interface

Now the Cerbo GX is showing the following error message:
#15 VE.Bus Error - MultiPlus-II 12/3000/120-32

In addition, several status LEDs on the MultiPlus are active:

  • Low battery LED is permanently on
  • Bulk, Absorption, and Inverter on LEDs are blinking or turning off intermittently

I’m now worried that I may have damaged the device.
Do I need to send it in for repair, or is there another way to fix this?

While searching online, I came across a suggestion that a factory reset of the Cerbo GX might resolve the issue, has anyone here experienced something similar?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :frowning: I’m feeling a bit lost and frustrated at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

At what moment did you get the error?

Disconnect everything, only connect the MK3 to the MultiPlus and try to reset the MultiPlus to the default settings.

Maybe you have to do a firmware update on the MultiPlus.
If you are lucky it works with VictronConnect if not you have to use VEflash for a manual update.

After I plugged the MK3 device out and restarted the system.

Can I reset the Multiplus via VE.Configuration?
Victron Connect will not Work, beacause I don’t have the Bluetooth dongle

You can use victron connect with the mk3 to usb adapter.

And you can also reset with ve configure.
