Hello all new to victron need some help. I have a 12 120 3000 multi plus with cerbo s gx and touch 50. I’ve tried to configure the Multiplus using usb mk3 on my laptop but every time I plug that rj45 into the cerbo gx after programming the multi plus either won’t turn on or I get flashing lights. Any suggestions?
So, you program the multiplus with the MK3 plugged into it. Then when you plug the Multiplus into the Cerbo it won’t turn on?
Hi @Moepolk,
Could you please tell me the serial number of your Cerbo GX?
Yes thats correct
Doesn’t sound normal. @guystewart is who you want to talk to.
Check again that you use the correct VE.Bus port at the Cerbo, not VE.Can or Ethernet.
Hello @guystewart th serial number is HQ2236HAHPY it’s a Cerbo S GX
Double and triple checked it’s plugged into VE Bus
And NO terminators plugged in?
Hi @Moepolk,
There is a possible cause, did you potentially select a VE.Bus lithium battery profile for the Multi when programming?
This is sometimes done by mistake, and when there is no VE.Bus BMS connected to the Multi will not start up.
First thing to confirm is that a normal lead acid battery profile is selected to rule it out, and see if the Multi starts up under those conditions.
If that fails, and the Multi still does not start up, then there may be another issue.
I would suggest talking to your dealer and making the request for a warranty RMA of the Cerbo GX.
When getting a replacement, make sure that the serial number is HQ2529 or later.
If that is not possible, or you would prefer to keep the unit you have, there is a work around you can do removing PIN7 from the VE.Bus cable that connects to the MultiPlus. There is a description of this here; 20. Troubleshooting
That should also resolve it.
Sorry for the hassles.
