VE bus and RPI 4 and BMS cable from Votago baterry

Dear All,

First I would like to thank everyone that contributed to this question in advance. Please bare with me.

I would like to know if there are any USB to VE CAN computable and affordable converters.

Also I would like someone to clear up the difference between ve. Can and RS485
My baterry supplies both CAN H/L and RS485A+/B-

What I am actually connecting where?

Thank you in advance

Dear All ,

I checked online and I found this.

So my battery should use CAN bus ( L and H ) so I should find an adapter that is a USB to CAN bus that is compatible with the RPI image.

I found this from the old forum

And a homemade terminator with a 120ohms resistor on an RJ45 connector to terminate the open end of the battery for said CAN Bus

So I think I will be able to make the device work as expected I suppose

Thank you for your help

Okay, so after the CAN bus to USB arrived, I’ve tested it with a lithium battery and we got coms.
So all works good at least with this battery I tested.

–Further update –

Voltogo batteries arrived and everything worked as expected ! Thank you
