V3.80~27 solar tracker list order

V3.80~27 change log: Order solar trackers by tracker index instead of name.

What tracker index is the change log referring to?

V3.80~25 list order by custom name.

V380~27 doesn’t appear to order by name or VRM instance?

Cerbo GX with four 75/15 MPPT. Node red & dbus serial driver, author says GUI uses plugins, not custom GUI

I noticed a different order after switching from ~25 back to ~27

Hi @MiPaul

The ‘tracker index’ referred to is the index of the tracker per device. So multiple trackers on a single device will be ordered by index.
When there is more than one solarcharger in the system, the device (custom) name determines the order of the devices, and the tracker index again determines the order of the individual trackers.

Thank you. It appears the order by custom name does not hold true for the latest beta revision ~27.

@MiPaul

It seems like it, yes. I’ve reported the issue.

Perfect, thank you.

@MiPaul

One question though:
Are all MPPT’s single-tracker devices? Then they should just be ordered alphabetically.

All 4 are single tracker Smartsolar 75/15.
~25 has them alphabetically, ~27 does not.

I do have dbus serial battery driver installed. The version I use has uses plugins vs. the custom GUI. Switching back to ~25 brings them into alphabetic alignment again.

Same problem when no modifications present, except for Node-Red enabled.

Hi @kaarliskr

What do you mean? Are solar trackers listed differently when Node-red is enabled?

No, I mean that even though I have no modifications, the list isn’t in alphabetical order.

I’m just making it clear that I do have node-red enabled, so that the configuration is clear, but I’m pretty sure node-red isn’t the issue. The order was alphabetical in 25 and is not alphabetical in 27.

@kaarliskr

Alright clear. The issue is indeed not related to modifications. There was a bug in GUI-v2 and is already solved. The fix will be merged in the following beta release.

v3.80~32 Different order, but still doesn’t seem to follow any pattern that I can find.
The device list is alphabetic order.
