Use Orion-Tr DC/DC Converter, isolated, 12 to 48v as B2B charger

Hello together,
In the manual it ia not recmended, but why? I want to use my 12v lead battery (charged by alternator) to charge my 48v life4po battery. Is the anything speaking against this?
Greetings

The Converter models just have a fixed output voltage so do not perform a proper absorption charge at above 14.0V followed by float at 13.5V. Therefore they will either overcharge or undercharge a battery depending upon what voltage it is set at.

You need an Orion Charger version.

Hello,
I’m talking about a 48v Lifepo4, so CC CV loading
Greetings

Yes, and what happens at the end of the CV phase when the battery is full. Keeping it at full charge voltage after it is full will overcharge the battery, which is why lithium chargers stop charging by turning off or reducing to a float voltage of 13.5V when full to stop charging but work as a power pack. If you set the Converter to 13.5V then it would be very slow to charge.
