Upgrading the electrics on a 2005 Bavaria Cruiser

Hello!

I need some help and advice upgrading the electrics on our 2005 Bavaria Cruiser. My goal is to install an MPPT for a solar panel, a MultiPlus for 230V supply and battery charging, and all the other required components like the SmartShunt, Lynx Power-In, etc. Right now, lead-acid batteries are still installed, but I want to make the system ready for a future switch to LiFePO₄ once the old batteries are dead.

I started by first checking what is currently installed. It took me a while to understand the wiring, but thankfully it looks like most of the installation is still in its original condition. The most confusing thing is actually the colors used: blue is minus, black is positive (what?!), but sometimes red is also used. Any hints are welcome—I assume there is a logic behind it that I just don’t know yet.

But now let’s get started. This is how the wiring currently looks:

And this is a first version of my new plan:

The MPPT is missing, but that’s easy to add. Please share your feedback and let me know if I missed something—or even worse, if something is wrong. I hope the integration of the starter and house batteries is correct. What is the purpose of the yellow cable from the alternator to the battery? Will this diode still work if I later switch to LiFePO₄ batteries, considering the slightly different voltages? Any additional comments or recommendations?

Best regards
Daniel
