Unwanted reboot of Cerbo GX

Hello,

I have the next problem:

setup:

-3x multiplus II 3000

-SMA Tripower 5kW connected on AC out

- 3x 16S EVE280Ah cells with “ old style” JK BMS. All BMS are connected with RS485 to USB converter and connected to the USB plugs of the Cerbo GX Mk. 2, so all USB connections can handle data.

- 2x MPPT RS450/100

- firmware 3.70

Now the Cerbo reboots about every 3 hours. This is preceded with a spike in de Dbus round trip time ( up to 240ms).

I have read that the BatteryAggregator might be the cause. Some people suggest to decrease the Dbus polling time.

Is there anyone who has done this and found it to be a solution for this problem?

I found a lot of suggestion to check the journals but none of these commands are recognized by the Cerbo.

Anyone any idea were to look for logfiles that might explain this behaviour?

Thanks in advace.

The watchdog reboots the Cerbo if CPU usage is too high for too long.

If you know how to ssh into the Cerbo, you can edit the /etc/watchdog.conf file to raise the thresholds for rebooting.

Hello,

@rick, thanks for the tips. In the meantime I have changed my setup.

I read these cheap adapters are quite “ power hungry”.

I have put an active USB hub to which I connected all three BMS adapters. The hub is connected to the first Cerbo GX USB port.

I have had no issues since ( 3 days now). I will report any changes here.
