Our PV system was installed in November 2025 by a specialized team, and everything is still under warranty.
Our Victron MPPT 150/70 up to 250/100 failed in April. It was replaced in May, but we did not got a clear explanation for the failure. Unfortunately, the replacement failed again on July 30.
We’re using a Dyness DL5.0C battery.
Has anyone experienced something similar? We’d really like to understand what’s causing this and find a long-term solution. If any details would be needed I can provide we just need some help.. could be a compatibility issue with battery or what could be the cause?
Could the charging voltage be set a little too high (above 55.2 V)? If the cells were poorly balanced, an overvoltage on one of the cells could have caused the BMS to shut down. This can cause the charge controller’s output voltage to become too high, causing it to enter a protection mode and short-circuit the PV input. FWIW we’ve the MPPT450/100 with 7x440 panels on each of the two trackers (east and west). We’ve 3 of Dyness PowerDepot H5B which I think is fairly similar internally.
Everything working fine over a year. I only report this in case it helps answer anything on compatibility.
