Three phase diesel generator

hello expert friends!!!
i HAVE A THREE PHASE DIESEL POWER GENERATOR,ONE EasySolar-II GX 24/3000/70-32 MPPT 250/70 AND TWO MULTIPLUS UNITS.

THE QUESTION IS THE FOLLOWING. CAN I UTILIZE EACH OF THE THREE PHASES OF THE GENERATOR TO SUPPLY THE AC INPUT OF EACH OF THE THREE UNITS?THAT MEANS ONE PHASE(220V 3000W) FOR EACH UNIT? THE UNITS WILL BE WORKING IN PARALLEL

Only if you mean "DC parallel "

AC-wise the inverters will have the same phase shift as the genny.

THANK YOU
ill be using the three units ac parallel. i thought that each unit can synchronize with phase shift of the generator.

Yes, the inverters will adopt the phase of the generator, but then they are NOT parallel…

if i use them in series as a three phase system it will be ok? thank you again for fast response . your knowledge is very important

Yes, that’s the way it should be

That’s garbage!
If they are configured as parallel they will NOT synchronize to a 3-phase input!
In a parallel system the outputs are connected together so it impossible that each device synchronizes to another phase.

They will only accept an input if each unit has the same phase.

Yeah, but he doesn’t want a parallel system…

The word parrallel were used in post and tag (i have removed it now in tag). They can have two meanings. Not entirely clear.

@IOA
Obviously they cant be programmed as one system, (as they are not matching units) but yes they will synchronise to the source on the phase they are connected to.

Do yourself a favour and make sure your input current limit is the same on all three inverters - may seem obvious - but can be overlooked. Generators do not like to be very unevenly loaded.

Your one tag hybrid generators is actual for this type system which needs all units to be the same. I am assuming that is not what you are refering to either.

As the AC path in EasySolar, in some conditions, can be a direct one, connecting all units in AC parallel means putting all three phases of the generator in parallel.
And, as they are 120 deg. apart, imagine the result !!!..
A picture makes for a thousand words…

Save yourself the trouble and exchange the EasySolar for a Multi and have three matching units. Set it up as a proper 3P sistem by the book and don’t try re-invent the wheel…

@dansz
An Easysolar already has a Multiplus aboard. If the same as the others there’s no point changing it.

It does but it is an unsupported setup to have different units acting as three-phased sistem.

thank you all for your replies. completely understood!! i changed my setup. One phase generator. now next question…is a generator with auto start stop and ats capability enough to be controlled by the easy solar unit? i’ll be using the generator to charge my batteries (apart from solar) when needed.

by the way, if you have an easy solar system that you want to extend it victron recommends the multiplus II since a second gx controller is not needed. they are compatible and one easy solar unit with its cerbo gx can control 4 more multiplus II units.

No, using EasySolar and MultiPlus together is totally supported.

An EasySolar is just a normal MultiPlus and a MPPT together in one case.

Hello expert!!! what are the characteristics that a generator needs to have in order its auto start stop to be connected and controlled by an easy solar unit? are all generator with ATS capability suitable for example?
thankyou for your time!!

A simple geneator start stop is explained in the Cerbo gX manual it applies to most GXs

An ATS is simple to dummy. You just have a contactor that is switched/signalled by the GX relay (it thinks power is gone and auto starts).
