Hello All, I am trying to stop Export of Ac Coupled Solar - Australia

Break down of system

Sungrow SG5 PV Inverter installed on the multiplus output

Victron Shunt

Everything is working brilliantly.

However I want to limit, control the grid Export power. (Stop it completely)

My power supplier is Amber, they provide awesome power prices for people with batteries, but at peak times they charge to feed power back into the grid. Supply prices are awesome though!

With grid feed switched off, my MultiPlus-II frequency shifts once batteries reach 100%. So from what I can see, the potential is there!

But with grid connection, the excess just gets fed back into the grid.

I have setup ESS and told the MultiPlus-II not to feed in, but it doesn’t.

I have setup max of 100w feed in and it doesn’t limit either.

It’s like I change the settings but the MultiPlus-II doesn’t change what it is doing.

Any help would be awesome.

Would I be better to change my Sungrow PV Inverter to a Fronius with modus control so the MP can control it? If so, which model Fronius soul be best? Thank you

You want the Sungrow inverter to generate less AC power on a schedule.

How can it be controlled?

In off-grid mode, the MP2 raises the AC frequency and this is taken as a command by the inverter to throttle back.

But in grid-connected mode it’s not possible to raise the frequency. So how else can your inverter be controlled?
