Spurious random changes to ESS settings without human intervention

Hi all.

Have recently started experiencing random changes to ESS settings for such things as scheduled charging, peak shaving and grid feed-in with ridiculous values being set and preset scheduled charging routines being activated without my intervention. It’s beginning to concern me as some of the values are appearing quite dangerous as I am often off-site for extended periods of time.

Any idea’s on what could be suddenly causing such spurious changes ? I have not modified this system recently, have no mods running or home assist etc.

Just a Cerbo GX running a 240v / 48v Multiplus II with Victron MPPTs and Gobel LiFePo4 batteries via CAN Bus and a recent install of a Victron EVCS.

Note: MQTT access is off by default, and I my external grid meter is the standard ET112.

Hi @OffGridVoltage ,

What sort of values are you seeing? Could you share some screenshots?

Kind regards,

Lucian, from the VRM team

Does the event log on vrm show any activity?

@OffGridVoltage

Do you use a safe VRM password?

Change your password and see what happens.

Thanks for your reply Lucian. I will take and post sceenshots here when it does it again. The values appeared to be random numbers for crazy high max grid feed-in limits and Peak Shaving current limits etc. When I open the remote consol it is still within the changed parameter, and is easily set back to normal, but very concerning. Will having more than one remote consol device contribute to this ? (i.e. a tablet in the workshop / mobile phone VRM / Windows PC)

I will change it just in case…..

No, nothing out of the ordinary. I’m looking if there are any other logs I can activate to keep an eye on these settings.

Then it isn’t coming via VRM.

Yes, I didn’t assume it was. But it’s got me questioning where these changes are coming from and what is causing the spurious input.

No DESS, nodered, HA etc?

No, I do not have any of those configured and never have. It’s just a straight ESS with no other connectivity.
