I have a site with a MultiPlus‑II 48/3000/35‑120 V unit, part # pmp482305100, that has been powered via 120V from a generator. I want to add a second multiplus-II since the site has upgraded to a larger generator that provides 240V power. I have the split phasing and each multiplus-II sees 120V, however I can’t combine them into a single unit working with split-phase. The second unit is also a MultiPlus‑II 48/3000/35‑120 V unit, part # pmp482305102. I have both of them on the same firmware version (version 552), and they both have the same basic config where they can work independently with 120V AC input, but not together when I combine their VE.Bus ports together (without the cerbo for the configuration step).
Can anyone confirm if the different part number of the same model is different enough to not allow it to work together as a split-phase system?
Did you configure the splitphase by using the VE.BusQuickConfigure software or through VictronConnect?
What are the hardware revisions of the two MPs? That they have two different product numbers is not a good sign, but ultimately the hard- and firmware versions have to match
What happens when you switch them on?
They should be configured through Ve.busquickconfigure as chrigu mentions above.
If you fail you could try resetting both units to ‘stand-alone’ and start from scratch.
I had them visible and available in Victron Connect as standalone … once I tried to see them in the VE.Bus System Configurator then they wouldn’t both show. I could see one or none. Is the VE.BusQuickConfigure a different software application? I can try that if I can find where to download it from.
When I first connected their VE.bus together, I would see the following two errors based on the LEDs
Error 10 - System time synchronisation problem: For a few seconds and then would dissapear. Based on the documentation that is ok since it stops after a few seconds.
Error 3 - Not all, or more than, the expected devices were found in the system: This one stays and doesn’t clear. Which matches why in the software I don’t see both either.
I’ve reset both units to stand alone and started from scratch, and still the same errors.
