Split phase multiplus system will not transfer to shore or generator power

HELP! Anyone. I am at wits end. I’m a Victron Installer and done many of these systems.

I had a client contact me to fix his system. I did many minor fixes and the final thing was a firmware update to the Two Multiplus inverters in a split phase configuration. I did the upgrade and had to reformat the inverts and set up the split system again. no problems. It all works and the final items was to test shore/generator transfer. The two inverters see 60Hz normal frequency and 120V input, but will NOT transfer to that. I checked every setting. Virtual switch is off. Other items made no difference, like UPS, Wide Frequency range and all other settings I can think of in my experience with Victron.
Any ideas or paths to troubleshooting a solution would be appreciated greatly. Again, the system works in UPS mode just fine but will not perform a transfer to generator whereas before the firmware update v554, it had no problems.

Are the multis assigned to the correct split phase (we would say rotating field) in the configuration?

Master (L1) and Slave (L2) @ 180°? Is this what you mean, because this is what I have.

Is the shore/generator input split phase also? If not, have you disabled “switch as group”?
