Would it be possible to split the Ac coupled solar inverters and the Dc charge controllers in the Solar yield box on the over view page. The data is available in the drill down list but when you have multiple MPPT’s continuously updating their watts it’s not possible to get a real-time value of the total DC generation.
Hi @Markus_001 yes. In theory that should be possible.
Why do you like that, other than being used to it in gui-v2.
That info also helps me to explain the UX-ers.
@mpvader hello Matthijs
The main reason is a visual appearance in the overview that the Fronius is actually online and producing power.
The second is a quick visual comparison between the two values. I have a 10% difference between the DC solar and the AC solar so I can fairly quickly see if there is a problem on either side.
Hello Team,
Will the gui v2 ever display differing PVs, like the v1, so one can see what the Fronius is doing differently from the dc pvs, at a glance maybe in the overview tab, splitting the solar yield into two ? Thank you
@nickdb Thank you
If you click on solar section, you get details as you might expect.
Personally I love the new view, getting everything consolidated. Analysing potential issues is required rarely. For that purpose I consider drilldown capability as sufficent and more effective.
The drill down is fine for one or two charge controllers but anything more becomes difficult to sum them up every few seconds, I for example have six and they are adjusting quite frequently. Some strings get soiled more than others then the drill down is great but a total DC value would be really good. Another reason is uniformity, VRM publishes the DC total as well as the AC total separately then grand total of both AC coupled and DC
Another option would be to sum the charge controllers and the PV inverters in the drill down
Large systems like I have and many I deploy with 8 to 24 trackers and as many as 2 or more Fronius , drilling down when I can otherwise take a Quick Look and have a mental note of things ; becomes more work . Old gui makes it easy to know who is messing up at a glance , if that gui had dark mode . Probably would never move to v2 , used to v1 since a decade now , so still love it ….
Thank you for this!
One small request:
Please give us the option to show PV-Inverter and PV-Charger seperatly in the Overview
Old (3.5):
New (3.5):
GuiMods (3.41):
It would also be nice to hide “AC-Loads”, when not in use…
i agree with ac loads , i think its a bug, because if you select all outputs on ac out only, that pane should disappear in ESS automatically but it doesn’t especially since ac out is basically 'critical loads" and ac out 2 is combined with it as well and not separated
I have a EM540 Energy Meter installed and I use the “External meter” as Grid metering in the ESS-settings…that is probably why it shows the “AC-Loads” panel. So it is kind of my fault I guess
I agree with “Markus_001”.
My Fronius Symo Advanced 10.0-3-M just stopped working (only 3 months old) and requiered a reset. I found out about it the same day…without the two values on the screen, I could have missed that for quite some time.
Also it is nice to compare the performance from different roofs.
Having the option to display AC- and DC-coupeled PV or even show the performance from different MPPTs would be great for advanced users.
Hi all, clear that this is a popular request; we’ll look at finding a solution soon
(but first, bug fixing has priority )
Always happy to help with testing any betas on any of the products if you need me to, please can we now turn off ac load pane in VRM ESS, especially if the all loads are connected to just ac out and no pv connected to ac in and most especially because on the local device everything is as should be with the view
Just thought of something ; that ac load tab can also be changed to generator input for those who have that in their system while keeping everything clean , if their ac out is unified already
